How do I transfer video taken on an ipod to my Mac?

...can this be done through itunes? i ultimately want to have the video for viewing on my mac and for posting to youtube, etc...

I did as you suggested; other items showed up on the iPod, which were greyed out, as well as on the iMac.But the recordings folder remained empty.

They will be optimized when you sync them to the ipod.

Sorry. What I meant is that the iPod recordings folder in the finder appears empty (it is not), so that I cannot access anything within it to drag it

Make sure that on the iPod you are accessing them from the Video menu.
